The City Heights Opportunity Program Pursuing Entrepreneurial Development (C.H.O.P.P.E.D.) is dedicated to empowering food entrepreneurs in San Diego by providing essential training, resources, and a permitting stipend upon successful program completion. This micro-grant is designed to support your business growth and does not require repayment.

C.H.O.P.P.E.D. supports entrepreneurs operating as:

  • Micro-Enterprise Home Kitchen Operations (MEKHOs)

  • Sidewalk vendors

  • Pop-up vendors and caterers

  • Immigrant-owned restaurants

Eligibility and Enrollment Details:

  • The program is open to eligible food businesses in the City of San Diego.

  • Applicants may apply for one business only, and each business can receive one micro-grant.

  • To qualify for the grant, participants must complete all 8 sessions of the C.H.O.P.P.E.D. program.

  • The deadline to enroll is Thursday, February 5, 2025.

Selected participants will be notified via email and/or phone.
