Congratulations to Our Third San Diego Food Justice Project Cohort of Grant Recipients!
On behalf of the City Heights CDC and our partners, we would like to commend the recent graduates of the San Diego Food Justice Project. Our team wishes you the best in your entrepreneurial endeavors!
The San Diego Food Justice Project is a program designed for food-related business owners needing financial support and educational guidance. The needs-based program offers students an opportunity to attend in-person college-accredited courses, combined with at-home coursework. During the span of eight weeks, grant recipients are attended and mentored by our Economic Development team and our partners, Regional Entrepreneurship Center (REC) Innovation Lab at San Diego Miramar College, the COOK Alliance, Jacobs Center, and Business For Good.
We are looking for more business owners to apply for our upcoming Cohort 4. The requisites are that the business is food-related, consistent participation and engagement with the course, and submission and approval of an application. Business owners will gain perspective on entrepreneurial responsibilities, acquire college credits and connections with Miramar’s support systems, mentorship and resource information from organizers, and a need-based stipend ranging from $2,500-$7,500.
Help us spread the word! Share this post or send it to a person with a restaurant or food-related business. It can be an established business, a startup business, or the very beginning of an at-home or online business. This may be the opportunity for something new.
