40 YEARS OF COMMUNITY!

Thanks to all who made this second annual Street Food Fest and 40th birthday such a success. This work began four decades ago in City Heights, when a handful of neighbors committed to working together to make life better for all. This year, we've reoriented our entire organization around those values from our earliest days, and our mission is clearer than ever: we work to enhance the quality of life in City Heights by working with the community to create and sustain affordable housing, livable neighborhoods, and economic self-sufficiency.

Housing. Livability. Self Sufficiency. These are three legs of a stable stool we believe every person in City Heights deserves, so we work in and alongside community to see it done.

As we reflect on our successes and failures over the past 40 years, we also commit to the next 40. Will we continue this work for justice in the midst of unjust systems, acknowledging these are harmful systems we've often upheld? We are committed and resolved and open to feedback, support, and correction because it has to begin with us.

Thank you, our beloved City Heights, for sharing this passion for a more just community, and thank you for 40 years of incredible community.
