You Helped Hana Fulfill Her Dream of Studying Aerospace Engineering!

Meet Hana, a winner of the City Heights Legacy Scholarship! Hana sounded pretty tired the last time we spoke. She spent last week moving into her new dorm room, her first time branching out on her own. 

“I grew up in a strict household, and my family didn’t always understand such an outgoing and active daughter,” Hana shared.  

Hana and her family immigrated from Vietnam when she was nine. She laughs at having to repeat the third grade because of the language barrier, then exclaims, “My teachers really taught me a lot that first year!”  

Like so many young people in City Heights, Hana knows the struggle, hustle, and resilient hard work new immigrants face. Her parents taught her the value of education, and now she is going to college and majoring in aerospace engineering.
