Meet Tom, Our New Economic Development Program Coordinator
Meet Tom, a local who loves the City Heights community!
In the middle of learning a new job, Tom graciously sat down to share a little about himself and why he’s excited to join the team:
“My favorite thing about City Heights? The history, diversity, and especially the food of City Heights is what I love most. I read somewhere that City Heights is the most, or one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the nation and I totally see it. There’s just nowhere in San Diego that you can go get the variety of foods and see the rich history like City Heights has to offer.”
On top of his skills in economic development, Tom has a robust background in film.
“I started acting about seven years ago in a variety of TV shows and movies, and about a year and a half ago a producer approached my agent and I with an idea about a show that will have me travel around the country to experience different food, cultures, and the way people live and celebrate life. I would explore how we do things similarly and differently, celebrate the differences and have a better understand of each others’ history. The show is call ‘Shared Differences,’”
Tom actually filmed one episode of Shared Differences out in Little Saigon in partnership with our friends at The Boulevard!
”I love being out with people. My goal is to be another pair of eyes and ears between our staff and the community of City Heights,” Tom shared. “I can use my background in marketing and public relations to help built better connections between the office, businesses community, and the community as whole to improve quality of life to businesses community and people of City Heights.”
