Meet Dahir, A New Board Member and Longtime Resident of City Heights!

Born in Somalia, Dahir and his family moved to City Heights back in 2003. Dahir went to Hoover High and then Southwestern College to study kinesiology before moving over to Atlanta to study political science.  

“I’m eager to be part of the policy and advocacy work in the community,” Dahir shared. “What will City Heights be like 10 years from now? How can we prepare for that? What is our plan and vision for the community? What kind of community do we want to live in in the next decade?” 

Dahir’s forward-thinking is exciting. Some days, when we’re overwhelmed with the day-to-day work alongside City Heights residents, it can be difficult to think about the future. That’s why we’re excited to have vision-oriented board members to help us look to the future and plan well!
