"I do this because it really, actually helps."—Meet Esperanza

This is Esperanza, a pillar of our community and one of the promotora healthcare community advocates we're supporting in the battle against COVID-19.

As communities like City Heights disproportionately suffer under the pandemic, we believe the solution is never far away: community-led solutions to community-endured problems. Trusted people like Esperanza have an amazing ability to reach into homes and connect people with the help and resources they need, and we're already seeing results.

As Esperanza put it, she loves this work because “it really, actually helps the community. Every family has different needs. Some people have so many jobs, don’t have time, etc, and for me this is a great way to help connect people with the help they need.”
