Let's Support The Regional Plan!

The Regional Plan affects all who call San Diego home, and the vote to approve this year’s plan is happening this week.

We’ve been at the table since the plan was formed, and this plan is especially important to us because it would mean promises made to our communities decades ago would be kept.

One of these promises is the Purple Line, a commuter line running from the Mexican border, through City Heights, and all the way up to Kearney Mesa.

If approved, the plan would also make Youth Opportunity Passes available. These are passes making transit free to people 18 years and under, something we believe will have a lasting impact on the region as it encourages and teaches young people to ride transit, reduces emissions, and offers more equitable access to lower income communities who rely heavily on transit.

And that gets to a third huge benefit of this year’s plan: it aligns with our region’s climate goals. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and discouraged about climate change—and with good reason—and that's why we're so excited about this plan—it’s actually good, hopeful news about work being done to address climate change, but only if it passes!

To make sure this happens, we need you to speak in support of the 2021 Regional Plan during SANDAG Board of Directors meeting this Friday, December 10th @8:30AM. Show your support by providing public comment, or sending in a generated letter to SANDAG. Links provided below!
