It’s Official—The Purple Line Will Serve City Heights!
For over 40 years, City Heights residents have advocated for reliable, affordable, and rapid regional transit. In 2021 new and emerging activists (alongside the OG’s) continue the multi-generational fight for a long-standing community vision for a transit line: The Purple Line.
We're thrilled to announce that the Purple Line will serve City Heights! SANDAG publicly shared this news at the South Bay to Sorrento Corridor Stakeholder meeting on April 28th, 2021. This transportation justice victory will increase City Heights' access to jobs, medical care, schools, food, and the border.
Celebrate with us as we enter the next chapter for the long-envisioned Purple Line transit rail. With the support of resident leaders, partners, and municipalities we can create a transportation system that’s equitable for EJ communities—communities who need investments the most.
