City Heights CDC Is Now The Contract Holder for the University Avenue Maintenance Assessment District (MAD)

We are thrilled to announce City Heights CDC is now the contract holder for the University Avenue Maintenance Assessment District (MAD)!

This contract allows our organization to oversee the regular maintenance of the University Avenue business corridor, ensuring a cleaner and more welcoming environment for everyone! Business and property owners can now contact our team directly for any concerns about cleanliness and maintenance.

As part of our commitment to the corridor, we have started conducting regular assessments to identify specific maintenance services that have been lacking. Through weekly cleanups, we have discovered the immediate need for graffiti removal and more frequent trash pick-ups. In response, we have increased the frequency of trash collection and implemented effective measures for graffiti removal.

Recently, we launched the "MAD Work” project, which includes a comprehensive assessment to identify the most significant community needs over the past 20 years. Our goal is to establish open and effective communication with both the private and public sectors in our community to streamline maintenance requests, ultimately leading to cleaner streets for City Heights.

We’re excited to move forward and continue collaborating with our partners, volunteers, maintenance crew, and the entire community to make the streets of City Heights cleaner and safer. Thank you to everyone who participated in our July cleanups and made this progress possible!
