Natasha Tais Salgado, born and raised in Orange County, CA, was drawn to San Diego by the rich history of activism in Barrio Logan & Logan Heights. She completed her B.A. in Political Science at the University of San Diego in 2019, being the first Latina woman of color elected as student government president. She is currently pursuing an MBA at Western Governors University, set to graduate by January 2024.
Natasha's advocacy extends to social justice initiatives. She actively participated in March for Our Lives, Women’s March San Diego, and grassroots movements like People over Profit-SD. At Logan Heights Community Development Corporation, she was the Director of Economic Development, focusing on socio-economic justice, housing, infrastructure, and environmental reform.
She now serves as the Director of Economic Development & Business Improvement Operations at City Heights CDC, continuing her commitment to equity, community engagement, and economic development. She's also Vice-Chair of the City of San Diego Small Business Advisory Board and an alumna of the Rockwood Leadership Institute’s Building Power Fellowship and the San Diego Leadership Alliance’s fellow’s class of 2022.
