Solar Panels for CHCDC Affordable Housing

Housing Operations

CHCDC has acquired and rehabilitated apartment communities and serves as managing general partner for 52 properties and 749 units of housing in City Heights. The idea of how we manage our apartment communities is from the property line outward into the neighborhood. Our projects serve as a catlyst for neighborhood revitalization, economic development and resident self sufficiency. We have formed Resident Advisory Boards to provide input into housing operations and to work with all our neighbors for safe streets and community action to improve the quality of life for all residents of City Heights.

We offer computer labs for our residents and a host of comprehensive services from finding a job to assistance and referals dealing with everyday problems. We are much more than an affordable housing provider. We are a comprehensive network of services and affordable housing dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our residents and all of City Heights.

Because we beleive it is important to protect the environment, we have installed solar panels for water heating and electricity for many of our projects

Our Maintain City Heights/Neighborhood Improvement Cooperation Enterprise (MCH/NICE) serves to maintain our properties and train employees in order to move them toward higher paying jobs. In this way, we serve the community as a whole by creating reinvestment into our community as employees raise their earnings.

Our goal is to continue serving City Heights in this dynamic and comprehensive way to build new housing, to purchase and rehabilitate apartment communities and to provide services to our residents and all of City Heights.

Our housing is affordable because it is limited to households earning a certain amount of money. These restrictions are different based on the apartment complex and are also based on the number of persons in each household. For more information on housing please go to Housing Overview.
